Privacy Policy

This policy describes how ELB Solutions handles information in ELB Golfer, the Android app with application ID com.elbsolutions.golfer, and in the tournament tools on this website. It is written so you can read it on a phone. No account is required to view it.

ELB Golfer account

If you create an ELB Golfer account, we store your email, name, optional username, home city and state, profile photo link, and handicap if you enter one. Your password is handled by Firebase Authentication and is not stored in the app. You can use a device-only profile without creating an account. That profile stays on the device.

Scores and friends

Rounds, hole scores, favorite courses, and the golfers you follow are saved on this device. When you are signed in, they also sync to the ELB Golfer cloud so you can use them on another sign-in. Scores you enter in a shared tournament are visible to the other players in that game.

The cloud copy of a casual round is stored in Google Cloud Firestore under your account, using that round’s own id. Signing out or losing a connection does not erase the copy saved on the phone. When the phone is online again, the app sends the saved round to that same cloud record.

Location

ELB Golfer asks for location only while you are using the app, to find nearby courses and show distances to the green when hole GPS is available. Scoring still works if you decline. The app does not request background location.

Maps

Hole maps use Mapbox satellite imagery. Opening a map sends the map area to Mapbox so the image can load. Maps need a network connection.

Course search

Find Course sends the words you type to the course directory ELB Golfer uses to look up courses. If you allow location, a nearby search can also send your approximate location so the directory can list courses near you. That directory is separate from your ELB Golfer account.

Tournament tools on this website

Golf courses use this website to run tournaments and events. Those tools can store scores, player names, group names, and tournament information entered for a scorecard or leaderboard. For tournament play, score data may be sent to Google Firebase so a live leaderboard can update. A sponsor shown on a scorecard may link to that sponsor’s own website, which has its own privacy practices.

How information is used and shared

We use this information to:

• create and sign you in to an ELB Golfer account
• keep scores on your phone and, when you are signed in, in your ELB Golfer cloud account
• show shared tournament scores to the players in that game
• find courses, show hole maps, and measure distances when you ask for those features
• run tournament scorecards and leaderboards for a course that uses this website

We do not sell personal information. ELB Golfer does not include a separate analytics or crash-reporting product. Google Firebase processes account and synced golfer data. Mapbox processes map requests. The course directory processes course searches. Those providers process the information needed to perform that service.

How long we keep it

Information in an ELB Golfer account stays until you delete the account. A device-only profile and scores saved only on the phone stay until you remove them or uninstall the app. Scores already stored on a shared tournament stay there so the rest of the group still has a scorecard.

Delete your account

Signed-in golfers can delete an account from Profile, then Delete account. Confirm with your password. That removes the sign-in, profile, friends list, favorites, and rounds saved to the account. Scores already stored on a shared tournament stay there so the rest of the group still has a scorecard. Deletion cannot be undone.

Children

ELB Golfer is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will post the updated version at this address and change the effective date.
